AN EXCEPTIONAL CONCERT

Kendrick Lamar and SZA, two giants of the international music scene, will be performing exceptional concerts at Paris La Défense Arena on July 15 and 16, 2025. It’s a show not to be missed for fans of rap, urban music, and unforgettable live performances.

A LEGEND OF MODERN RAP

Kendrick Lamar, from Compton, is one of the most iconic figures in contemporary rap. His career began in the early 2000s, but it was with the release of his first studio album Section.80 in 2011 that his name began to resonate in the music industry. However, it was his second album, good kid, m.A.A.d city (2012), that truly propelled him into the global spotlight. This project, both narrative and introspective, tells the story of his youth in the streets of Compton and touches on themes of violence, redemption, and personal struggle.

With tracks like “Bitch, Don’t Kill My Vibe” and “Swimming Pools (Drank),” Kendrick Lamar established himself as a unique and authentic voice in the rap world, drawing attention for his exceptional writing and ability to tackle deep social issues. His next album, To Pimp a Butterfly (2015), marked a significant artistic evolution. Tracks like “Alright,” which became an anthem for protest movements, and “King Kunta” solidified Kendrick Lamar’s position as a revolutionary artist.

In 2017, Kendrick Lamar struck again with DAMN., an album that earned him Grammy Awards and the title of Best Album of the Year. Hits like “HUMBLE.,” “DNA.,” and “LOYALTY.” became instant classics, cementing his reputation as a master of rhyme and storytelling.

In addition to his solo albums, Kendrick Lamar has been involved in collaborative projects, including the soundtrack for Black Panther (2018), where he worked alongside SZA and other artists, creating standout tracks like “All the Stars,” which became a global anthem.

SZA, THE RISE OF R&B

SZA has become one of the most influential voices in contemporary R&B. She made her debut in the music industry in 2012, but it was with the release of her first studio project Ctrl in 2017 that she truly gained recognition. This critically acclaimed album blends soul, R&B, and alternative influences while addressing universal themes such as love, vulnerability, and self-discovery. Tracks like “Love Galore,” “The Weekend,” and “Drew Barrymore” quickly made her an essential figure in the music scene.

With her unique style, SZA has managed to reach a wide audience, from classic R&B fans to alternative music enthusiasts, thanks to her smooth voice and intimate, authentic writing. She rapidly built a massive fan base with her personal lyrics and captivating melodies.

In 2022, SZA made her grand return with SOS, a second album that solidified her status as an international star. In this album, she explores diverse sounds while addressing themes of complex relationships, healing, and self-discovery. The success of the single “Good Days” and the popularity of tracks like “Kill Bill” propelled the album to the top of the charts and reinforced her influence in the music industry.

THE SUPER BOWL CROWN

After his triumphant night at the Grammy Awards, where he won five awards, Kendrick Lamar set the stage on fire during the Super Bowl halftime show performance on Sunday, February 9th. The artist behind “Not Like Us” delivered a spectacular show to an enthusiastic crowd and hundreds of millions of viewers worldwide.

Accompanied by a group of dancers dressed in American colors, the Compton rapper presented a thirteen-minute medley of his greatest hits. His performance was marked by surprise guests, including famous tennis player Serena Williams and legendary comedian Samuel L. Jackson. But it was the appearance of SZA that truly set the stage ablaze.

Together, they first performed their joint track “Luther,” released in November 2024, before continuing with their hit “All the Stars” from the Black Panther soundtrack. At the end of their masterful performance, Samuel L. Jackson didn’t hesitate to declare, “That’s what America wants!” a nod to the power and energy of this unforgettable duo.
